U.S. ESIGN Act
The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) is a U.S. federal law. Under it, a signature, contract or other record may not be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form. It does not cover some documents, for example wills.
UETA
The Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) is a model law for electronic transactions. 49 U.S. states have adopted it into their own law.
eIDAS - SES
The eIDAS regulation (Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services) sets the rules for electronic signatures in all EU member states. DocsAutomator creates simple electronic signatures (SES). An SES may not be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence solely because it is electronic. It does not meet a legal written-form requirement, for example where a law requires a handwritten or qualified electronic signature.
GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to organisations in the EU that process personal data, and to organisations outside the EU that offer goods or services to people in the EU. For the data we process for you, we act as processor under Article 28 GDPR and offer a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
