# Overage Documents

> Keep generating documents after you hit your monthly plan limit

Every plan includes a monthly document allowance. With **overage documents** enabled, generation simply continues past your allowance and the extra documents are billed per document. With overage disabled, generation stops when the allowance is used up.

## Pricing per plan

Overage charges appear on your next monthly invoice as metered usage.

## Enable overage

1. Go to [Workspace Settings > Overage Documents](https://app.docsautomator.co/settings/workspace/overage).
2. Turn on **Overage documents**.

  Enable overage **before** you hit your monthly limit if uninterrupted generation matters to your workflow. When the limit is reached with overage off, document generation stops until your allowance resets or you enable overage.

## Good to know

* Your document allowance resets at the start of each billing month. Unused documents do not roll over.
* If you regularly run far past your allowance, a bigger plan is usually cheaper than overage. Compare on the [pricing page](https://www.docsautomator.co/pricing).
* Test mode (preview) documents are free and unlimited on all plans; they carry a watermark and do not count against your allowance.
